CREW Maryland Suburban is proud to partner once again with Montgomery College for an evening of networking and conversation about historic preservation.

This event will highlight resources and benefits colleges and universities bring to your real estate activities, the landscape for current and near term employer needs in biotech, cyber security and engineering, and how educational institutions are addressing those needs. Our distinguished panel of speakers will provide examples of how universities and colleges use their real estate in partnering with companies to evaluate their locational needs.

CREW Maryland Suburban joins with the Association for Preservation Technology (APT) DC Chapter for an evening of networking and conversation about historic preservation.

The event will include a presentation by Clare Lise Kelly, the Architectural History Specialist at the Montgomery County Planning Department, M-NCPPC, who will be discussing her recent book Montgomery Modern: Modern Architecture in Montgomery County, Maryland 1930-1979.

Rick Brown, owner and developer of the Supper Club, will provide the evening’s introduction. Nakita Reed and Ward Bucher of Encore Sustainable Design, LLC will close out the evening with breakout discussions of the building’s renovation and key themes in historic preservation.

Refreshments will include heavy appetizers and a cash bar.

2017 Economic Development Update for the State of Maryland

Gaithersburg /Germantown, MD (February 10, 2017) –The 2017 Economic Development Update for the State of Maryland presented by Governor Larry Hogan, Dr. DeRionne Pollard and Marilyn Balcombe will occur on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 from 12:45-2:00 PM (presentation to begin promptly at 12:45) at Montgomery College –Germantown Campus, Globe Hall Auditorium, 20200 Observation Drive, Germantown, MD 20876.

CREW Maryland Suburban is so pleased to have Governor Hogan, Montgomery College and the Chamber show support for women in commercial real estate through participation in our annual Economic Development update. Combined efforts such as this builds strength for our respective and collective causes, and ultimately makes Maryland, and our local communities, environments for success,” said Carlyn Kelley, President, CREW Maryland Suburban.

Coordinated by CREW Maryland Suburban, Governor Hogan will join CREW members, Chamber members and college students for a presentation on the state of Maryland’s economy. Attendees will also hear from Dr. Pollard, the President of Montgomery College and Marilyn Balcombe, President of the Gaithersburg-Germantown Chamber of Commerce.

It is great to have business organizations working together to bring jobs to Maryland. Having Dr. Pollard and Governor Hogan together with CREW and the Chamber shows the synergy between education, government and jobs,” said Balcombe.

The event will be held at Montgomery College Germantown Campus & will afford Montgomery College students the opportunity to hear from the Governor.

Through connecting companies with our students, we are multiplying the power of partnerships,” said Pollard. “The College is thrilled to host Governor Hogan and our friends from CREW at the Germantown Campus, also home to Pinkney Innovation Complex for Science and Technology, or PIC MC, our integrated academic, business and research campus.”
