CREW Northern Virginia’s CNCC Economic Forecast and Regional Updates

Spencer Levy, Americas Head of Research for CBRE and a senior member of the company’s global research team, will keynote CNCC/CREW Northern Virginia’s annual economic forecast on January 19th. He plays an integral role in the development and implementation of the global research strategy and business plan area. He will present an overview of the key conditions shaping the regional economy and key development challenges that the region faces in 2016 and beyond. Mr. Levy is a frequent speaker before industry groups and his insights on the real estate market are often quoted in the press.

A Welcome from the New President

Welcome to CREW Maryland Suburban 2013!  We have a great year planned, with lunchtime panels on topics such as legislative updates, the state of the regional economy, and green initiatives.  Our first 2013 luncheon is scheduled for Wednesday, January 23rd, with speakers from Montgomery County, Prince George’s County, and the City of Frederick providing economic development updates.

 

Aside from attending our monthly events, the best way to get the most out of your CREW Maryland Suburban membership is to actively participate on one of our Committees.  When you became a member, you were assigned to a Committee based on the preferences you expressed on your application form.  If you don’t remember which Committee you were assigned to, or are interested in getting more involved with your Committee or learning more about another Committee, please contact one of our Committee chairs below:

OCCUPY SANDY RELIEF

Please consider bringing an item or two to CREW Maryland Suburban’s November lunch to support OCCUPY SANDY RELIEF, which is supplying aid to victims of the Hurricane in the Rockaways neighborhood and Staten Island, NY.  Many of the residents are families of police officers and fire fighters whose homes have been severely damaged.  They have had little time to address their own needs, as they are working long hours providing relief for the citizens of New York.

Real Estate Education

Mark Hassinger, in conjunction with George Mason University, has developed a Real Estate Education series for professionals who may want to advance their education in real estate, but perhaps do not want to commit to a 2 year program.  The individuals involved in putting this program together have all participated in other Real Estate Masters Programs (including George Mason’s and Johns Hopkins).  It is a certificate program, and also offers AIA credits to those who need them.

Here is what Mark had to say about the program. We have recently joint ventured on this endeavor with George Mason and their Executive Education program and on October 12th we are commencing the Fall 2012 RE3 Institute Seminar Series at George Mason’s Arlington Campus (Virginia Square/GMU Metro). CONGRATULATIONS TO CREW MEMBER HEATHER DLHOPOLSKY Named to the Daily Record’s VIP Under 40 List

Heather Dlholpolsky, a land use attorney at Linowes and Blocher has been named to the Very Important Professionals (Successful Before 40) List compiled by the Daily Record, Maryland’s only daily legal and business publication.
